Update 2-26-23 At this time, we are allowing clients to be present for their pet's exam. Due to the small size of our exam rooms, we are still limiting it to one client in the exam room at a time. Please use a mask if you are ill or have any respiratory signs. We will continue to offer curbside service for any clients that prefer to remain in their vehicle and not enter the building.
Updated 7-4-22 We ask that all clients call the front desk at 989-793-8728 upon arrival. At this time we are allowing pet owners to come in for exams. Due to the small size of exam rooms, only one client is allowed per exam. Masks are required at all times while in the building. Technician visits and medication pick ups will continue to be curbside at this time. If you prefer you may continue to utilize curbside service.
Updated 1-13-22 Due to increasing case load we are back to operating on a curbside only basis at this time. We have a very small staff and if we become ill, we will not be available to care for your pets. We ask that you please respect our decisions to protect the health and safety of our staff and their families. We truly hope to be able to be back in person as soon as safely possible.
Updated 6-20-2021 It has been announced that the State of Michigan will be lifting all Covid-19 restrictions as of Tuesday, June 22nd. However, to ensure the safety of our clients and staff, we are planning a gradual transition back to pre-Covid appointment structures. This will allow us to make sure that we will not see a major surge in case numbers in the next few weeks.
We are overjoyed to be able to see our clients again and to interact with them directly, in person regarding the care of their pets. This week, we will begin allowing one adult into the exam rooms with their pet for veterinary appointments. Technician visits, rehabilitation, hydrotherapy and medication pick-ups will remain curbside for the time being. In an effort to prevent multiple people in the lobby, please call when you arrive. If you will be able to come into the building, the staff will direct you when to come in and escort you to an exam room. If you are not comfortable coming into the building, you may continue to use our curbside service. If you are coming in for an appointment and have been fully vaccinated, please bring your vaccination card with you if you elect not to wear a mask. If you will be wearing a mask and prefer that staff wear a mask when in the room with you, please let our staff know when you call to tell us you have arrived.
Updated 7-20-2020 The State of Michigan has continued to evolve their recommendations on how veterinary services can be provided.
At this time, we are open to provide all levels of care for your pets. We are no longer restricted to emergency care only.
Appointments and medication pick-ups will be done through curbside appointment. When you arrive for your appointment, please call 989-793-8728. One our friendly veterinary assistants will take a history on your pet and then instruct you on how to hand off your pet in our entry. The assistant will accompany your pet through their exam and any vaccines/treatments they may need while here. Dr. Zuker will then call you to discuss their exam or any concerns. You will then be checked out over the phone and we will meet you back in the entry way to hand your pet back over to you.
Please call to reschedule your appointment if you or a household member has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 2 weeks or if anyone in the household is experiencing clinical signs. While pets do not seem to contract COVID-19, they can potentially transmit the virus the same way as an object would. There is more likely to be transmission from the leash, harness, your credit cards, etc. than the pet itself, but we know how hard it is to resist that last kiss for the critter before he/she has to go to their vet appointment without you. We need to ensure the safety of our staff so that we can continue to remain open and provide care for your pets.
Due to reduced staff during this time, we have had to adjust our hours. We are currently open Monday - Thursday from 8am to 5pm and Friday from 8am to 12pm.
We may also not always be able to answer the phone right when it rings. If you are calling during business hours, please call the main phone number of 989-793-8728 and leave a message on our machine. We will call back as soon as possible. You may have our other lines saved on cell phones, etc. as we try to make all outgoing calls from our other lines as they do not ring in to the answering machine. Please update your quick contact with the main number. If that one is busy, it will automatically shift to an accessory line, but that does not work the other way.
We are complying with OSHA and CDC guidelines for facility cleaning practices and staff self monitoring. All employees will be wearing masks all day within the building and if they need to approach your vehicle with paperwork or to help with a pet.
We will keep you updated as protocols change. In the meantime, please do no hesitate to call to discuss any questions or concerns you have about your pet. Please feel free to download our complete COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan if you would like more detail.
