   Sarah Zuker, DVM, CCRP

Dr. Zuker has been actively involved in veterinary medicine since she was in high
school.  She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM) at Michigan
State University in 2012.   While in veterinary school, she worked for the Advanced
Rehabilitation Center for Animals and fell in love with how physical rehabilitation can
impact the lives of pets.  She completed her rehabilitation program simultaneously
and earned her Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) certification from
the University of Tennessee in June 2012.    After graduation, Dr. Zuker accepted a
position in Florida and has been practicing small animal medicine, surgery and
  physical rehabilitation.

Dr. Zuker has completed many additional certifications to help provide better quality of life for her patients.  Also at the University of Tennessee, she completed the “Canine Osteoarthritis Case Manager” certification.  Through the American Institute of Medical Laser Application she completed the “Scientific Basics of Medical Lasers”, “Medical Laser Safety” and “Laser Therapy Principles in the Companion Animal Practice” certifications.  Most recently, she did advanced training in Canine Orthotics and Prosthetics through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute to help injured or disfigured pets regain mobility.   She is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Rehabilitation Practitioners.

Andrew Smith - Practice Manager

Andrew began his introduction to the veterinary field when he married Sarah in 2002.  He has always loved animals and grew up with cats until a dog with one white paw stole his heart.   Andrew is very excited to begin a new career managing the practice.  He and Sarah are both very excited to meet and build relationships with Mackinaw’s clients and patients.

Dr. Zuker and Andrew were both born and raised in Shiawassee County.  Together they purchased Mackinaw Veterinary Associates in November of 2016.  They are very happy to be back in mid-Michigan and to raise their daughter with her family and small town, mid-western values.   When they are not at the clinic, they enjoy road trips, concerts, playing outdoors with their daughter and doting on their pets.
