Dr. Zuker has been actively involved in veterinary medicine since she was in high school. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM) at Michigan State University in 2012. While in veterinary school, she worked for the Advanced Rehabilitation Center for Animals and fell in love with how physical rehabilitation can impact the lives of pets. She completed her rehabilitation program simultaneously and earned her Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) certification from the University of Tennessee in June 2012. After graduation, Dr. Zuker accepted a position in Florida and has been practicing small animal medicine, surgery and physical rehabilitation.
Dr. Zuker has completed many additional certifications to help provide better quality of life for her patients. Also at the University of Tennessee, she completed the “Canine Osteoarthritis Case Manager” certification. Through the American Institute of Medical Laser Application she completed the “Scientific Basics of Medical Lasers”, “Medical Laser Safety” and “Laser Therapy Principles in the Companion Animal Practice” certifications. Most recently, she did advanced training in Canine Orthotics and Prosthetics through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute to help injured or disfigured pets regain mobility. She is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and the International Veterinary Academy of Pain Management.
Andrew Smith - Practice Manager
Andrew began his introduction to the veterinary field when he married Sarah in 2002. He has always loved animals and grew up with cats until a dog with one white paw stole his heart. Andrew is very excited to begin a new career managing the practice. He and Sarah are both very excited to meet and build relationships with Mackinaw’s clients and patients.
Dr. Zuker and Andrew were both born and raised in Shiawassee County. Together they purchased Mackinaw Veterinary Associates in November of 2016. They are very happy to be back in mid-Michigan and to raise their daughter with her family and small town, mid-western values. When they are not at the clinic, they enjoy road trips, concerts, playing outdoors with their daughter and doting on their pets.
Diane - Client Relations Specialist
Diane is a resident of Saginaw Township. She has over 35 years of customer service and management experience, with Associate Degrees from Saginaw Business Institute in Accounting/Data Management as well as training at Dale Carnegie
Diane is blessed to be raising her amazing grandson, Kaden. She enjoys crocheting, reading Amish novels, gardening, decorating, cooking and spending time with Kaden. A client of Mackinaw Veterinary Associates since 1979 and an employee since 2013, Diane truly enjoys her job and the M.V.A. clients.
Kayla - Veterinary Assistant - Team Leader
Kayla has always been an animal enthusiast. She would watch Animal Planet as a kid, dreaming about the day it would be her helping and caring for animals. She was the kid that always brought home stray and wild animals.
Kayla has a son named Waylon and three fur babies; a dog named Mac and two cats, Chester and Oz. She likes spending free time with her family or out in nature. Some hobbies she enjoys are art, traveling, camping and hiking. "I look forward to seeing all of you soon!"
Amanda - Licensed Veterinary Technician
Amanda is a licensed Technician and has been in veterinary medicine since 2001, where she started as a kennel assistant. She graduated from Baker College in 2007 and passed her boards exam that same year. She enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine. In her spare time she spends time with her family and their two French Bulldogs; Brody and Mavis and German Shorthaired Pointer; Hank. She is looking forward to meet everyone!
Olivia - Veterinary Assistant
I have a always been a big animal lover, animals have been a passion on mine my whole life. I have had many dogs and cats in my life. I have been training with horses since I was 8 years old and I plan on pursuing a degree in the veterinary field. My favorite things to do is camping up at the lake, and spending time with my family and my animals. I have always been the type of person to bring in strays when they are in need of a loving home. I currently have 2 dogs, Jake and Mylee and 2 cats, Harlee and Finn.
Chloe - Veterinary Assistant
Chloe has had a passion for animals and science since she was very young. She is currently studying at Saginaw Valley State University, working toward her DVM degree.
She enjoys spending time with her horses and dog, hunting and being outdoors. In the summer months, she competes in barrel racing.
Eddie - Official Greeter
Eddie has been with Mackinaw Veterinary since 2018. He enjoys greeting all dogs and people that walk by and often brings them a toy to show off. He would love to greet the cats too, as he loves his kitties at home, but a little harder to greet through carriers ;)
