Dr. Zuker has been actively involved in veterinary medicine since she was in high school. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree (DVM) at Michigan State University in 2012. While in veterinary school, she worked for the Advanced Rehabilitation Center for Animals and fell in love with how physical rehabilitation can impact the lives of pets. She completed her rehabilitation program simultaneously and earned her Certified Canine Rehabilitation Practitioner (CCRP) certification from the University of Tennessee in June 2012. After graduation, Dr. Zuker accepted a position in Florida and has been practicing small animal medicine, surgery and physical rehabilitation.
Dr. Zuker has completed many additional certifications to help provide better quality of life for her patients. Also at the University of Tennessee, she completed the “Canine Osteoarthritis Case Manager” certification. Through the American Institute of Medical Laser Application she completed the “Scientific Basics of Medical Lasers”, “Medical Laser Safety” and “Laser Therapy Principles in the Companion Animal Practice” certifications. Most recently, she did advanced training in Canine Orthotics and Prosthetics through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute to help injured or disfigured pets regain mobility. She is an active member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, the Michigan Veterinary Medical Association and the American Association of Rehabilitation Practitioners.
Andrew Smith - Practice Manager
Andrew began his introduction to the veterinary field when he married Sarah in 2002. He has always loved animals and grew up with cats until a dog with one white paw stole his heart. Andrew is very excited to begin a new career managing the practice. He and Sarah are both very excited to meet and build relationships with Mackinaw’s clients and patients.
Dr. Zuker and Andrew were both born and raised in Shiawassee County. Together they purchased Mackinaw Veterinary Associates in November of 2016. They are very happy to be back in mid-Michigan and to raise their daughter with her family and small town, mid-western values. When they are not at the clinic, they enjoy road trips, concerts, playing outdoors with their daughter and doting on their pets.
Diane - Client Relations Specialist
Diane is a resident of Saginaw Township. She has over 35 years of customer service and management experience, with Associate Degrees from Saginaw Business Institute in Accounting/Data Management as well as training at Dale Carnegie
Diane is blessed to be raising her amazing grandson, Kaden. She enjoys crocheting, reading Amish novels, gardening, decorating, cooking and spending time with Kaden. A client of Mackinaw Veterinary Associates since 1979 and an employee since 2013, Diane truly enjoys her job and the M.V.A. clients.
Nichole - Veterinary Assistant
Nichole shares a love of animals with the staff. She can remember wanting to be a dog so badly when she was a little girl that she rubbed her nose raw sniffing the carpet. She soon decided she could settle with being a veterinarian. She graduated with her undergraduate degree in Evolutionary Anthropology from the University of Michigan- Ann Arbor and is now working towards achieving her dream of becoming a veterinarian. Nichole has traveled the world but always finds she is happiest among family and friends in Michigan. She currently has one dog she rescued named Blaze, but she hopes to own a little farm of her own one day.
Kayla - Veterinary Assistant
Kayla has always been an animal enthusiast. She would watch Animal Planet as a kid, dreaming about the day it would be her helping and caring for animals. She was the kid that always brought home stray and wild animals.
Kayla has a son named Waylon and three fur babies; a dog names Sara (16 years old) and two cats, Chester and Oz (3 years old). She likes spending free time with her family or out in nature. Some hobbies she enjoys are art, traveling, camping and hiking.

Elizabeth - Veterinary Assistant
Elizabeth is currently an undergraduate student at Michigan State University, studying Animal Sciences on the path to become a veterinarian. She was originally studying human medicine, but quickly realized animals were her true passion while fostering an uncountable number of kittens and raising her leader dog puppy.
Elizabeth has quite a few pets of her own, and although she loves all her pets, she enjoys spending time teaching her dog, Willow fun tricks.
When Elizabeth is not spending her time with animals, she loves embracing her natural side by hiking and camping.
Shannon - Kennel Assistant
Shannon has always had a love for animals. She worked at the Saginaw Children's Zoo for almost 5 years, working as an Exhibit Educator. Her favorite part about working at the zoo was working with all of the animals and educating the visitors about the various animals. Her favorite animals at the zoo were the goats and kangaroos. Some of her favorite things to do include spending time with her family, friends and her 3 dogs (Yellow lab named Belle, Bernese mountain dog named Murray and Pit bull/Lab mix named Maizey) She also enjoys art (loves to draw), going camping, going to christian concerts and listening to music.
Meghan - Veterinary Assistant
Meghan has loved animals since she was a kid. Working as a vet assistant has been a dream come true. In the past couple years of working here, she has loved every second of it. Though her love is animals, Meghan is currently attending Martin Luther College in New Ulm, MN, studying to be a high school biology or elementary level teacher.
Meghan is the oldest of three and previously attended Michigan Lutheran Seminary here in Saginaw, where her two younger siblings are now students. She enjoys all things nature and the outdoors including hunting, biking, fishing, and hiking. Meghan has also grown in her love of working with animals and making conversation with her coworkers and clients here at Mackinaw Veterinary Associates.
Lilly Rose - Kennel Assistant
Lilly-Rose enjoys spending her spare time with her horses and her dog. She enjoys the outdoors and being with her friends. Besides working she’s a full time student at Saginaw Valley State University to work towards her Doctor or Veterinary Medicine
Eddie - Official Greeter
Eddie has been with Mackinaw Veterinary since 2018. He enjoys greeting all dogs and people that walk by and often brings them a toy to show off. He would love to greet the cats too, as he loves his kitties at home, but a little harder to greet through carriers ;)
