The State of Michigan has continued to evolve their recommendations on how veterinary services can be provided.
At this time, we are open to provide all levels of care for your pets. We are no longer restricted to emergency care only.
Appointments and medication pick-ups will be done through curbside appointment. When you arrive for your appointment, please call 989-793-8728. One our friendly veterinary assistants will take a history on your pet and then instruct you on how to hand off your pet in our entry. The assistant will accompany your pet through their exam and any vaccines/treatments they may need while here. Dr. Zuker will then call you to discuss their exam or any concerns. You will then be checked out over the phone and we will meet you back in the entry way to hand your pet back over to you.
Please call to reschedule your appointment if you or a household member has tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 2 weeks or if anyone in the household is experiencing clinical signs. While pets do not seem to contract COVID-19, they can potentially transmit the virus the same way as an object would. There is more likely to be transmission from the leash, harness, your credit cards, etc. than the pet itself, but we know how hard it is to resist that last kiss for the critter before he/she has to go to their vet appointment without you. We need to ensure the safety of our staff so that we can continue to remain open and provide care for your pets.
Due to reduced staff during this time, we have had to adjust our hours. We are currently open Monday - Thursday from 8am to 5pm and Friday from 8am to 12pm.
We may also not always be able to answer the phone right when it rings. If you are calling during business hours, please call the main phone number of 989-793-8728 and leave a message on our machine. We will call back as soon as possible. You may have our other lines saved on cell phones, etc. as we try to make all outgoing calls from our other lines as they do not ring in to the answering machine. Please update your quick contact with the main number. If that one is busy, it will automatically shift to an accessory line, but that does not work the other way.
We are complying with OSHA and CDC guidelines for facility cleaning practices and staff self monitoring. All employees will be wearing masks all day within the building and if they need to approach your vehicle with paperwork or to help with a pet.
We will keep you updated as protocols change. In the meantime, please do no hesitate to call to discuss any questions or concerns you have about your pet. Please feel free to download our complete COVID-19 Preparedness and Response Plan if you would like more detail.
